Pay Gap Analysis and Reporting Recommendations Panel

The IoDSA’s Remuneration Committee Forum has produced a guidance paper that considers the principles and practical approaches to pay gap measures to assist organisations to arrive at a sensible end result when they are considering the analysis and publication thereof.

The guidance considers when pay gap analysis is useful and which methodologies could be applied as well as what data points should be included.

The intention is not to provide a solution to pay inequality, nor to sensationalise the topic, but rather to provide constructive guidance as to how pay gaps should be assessed, analysed, reported on and addressed if there are inequalities identified. The responsibility of addressing inequality and the resultant pay gaps is not limited to a specific few but is rather the collective reasonability of leadership, so we encourage you to forward the event invite to your Head of Reward, Remco Chairs and/or HR Executives.

Dr Ronél Nienaber – Chair of the IoDSA’s REMCO Forum and SARA Master Reward Specialist

Ronél Nienaber, Master Reward Specialist, is currently employed as the Vice President Reward and Human Resources Information Systems at Sasol. She has worked in numerous human resources and rewards positions in financial services and energy sectors for the past 27 years.

Ronél was a member of the SARA Executive Committee for 18 years and was appointed by the State President to serve as a Commissioner on the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers for a term of 5 years. She is a registered Industrial Psychologist, chairs the Institute of Director’s Remuneration Committee Forum and is a member of the King Subcommittee on Remuneration.

 

 

Ray Harraway – Executive Head, Group Reward & Performance at Nedbank

Ray has extensive local and international reward management experience in the FS sector and Management Consulting with P&L responsibility.

Enjoying his 5th year with Nedbank helping them to make wise choices on remuneration, benefits and recognition investment. With over 20 years’ experience, he aspires to deliver total reward and performance management solutions that people understand and create value. Winner of the SARA 2019 remuneration reporting awards. Anelisa Keke – Chief Sustainability Officer at Redefine Properties

Widely regarded as the go-to source as a remuneration practitioner, a keynote speaker and editor, Ms Keke is the Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) at Redefine Properties. Before joining Redefine, Ms Keke was a senior manager at PwC in the Reward division, specialising in tax, legal and governance matters. She holds an LLB qualification from the University of Cape Town. In her current role, Ms Keke is responsible for further evolving Redefine’s ESG strategy to achieve the application of best practice ESG principles in the management of Redefine’s real estate assets. Redefine has over R75 billion in real estate assets under management.
